  • Not a lot.

Not too much going on on the wedding planning front lately. Nothing much this week at all really.

I'm determined to get those last few straggling Save-the-dates out today. I'm only missing a couple addresses now. Oh, wait, i think maybe just the one.

Anyhow, that's my plan for today, other than housework.

Mostly have just been researching things online. Boring for the most part. And makes me sick of the computer. lol

I'm back to my 'summer routine' so will be spending the weekdays in Port Alberni at my mom's working and only weekends at home.

Lame, but it pays the bills. And the wedding stuff! lol

I'll post more as I know the details. Have a great weekend all!

    By the way...

I must have passed my math final because I got a B- in the class and I was crossing my fingers for a C but doubting I'd get it. lol Yay!

  • Missing out...

There's so many wedding plans I'd rather be working on than studying for my Math final. But it's tomorrow morning at 9am so if I don't continue on with the marathon of torture from now til bedtime, I know I'll regret it.

It makes it worse seeing how deliciously sunny it is out today and knowing I can't get out and enjoy it.

    Math....bah!

I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed for a sunshine filled weekend!

  • Sick of searching...

I am SO sick of puttering about on the net researching hotels and prices, and packages, and airfare...and PRICES! Blech!

Anyone ever been to Hawaii? How'd you like, it, what's good, what sucked...etc..

We're spending a little over a week in Kauai and about a week in Oahu (originally Maui but my family suggested Oahu...for the 'nightlife'...whatever). Holler if you've been and have ANY suggestions at all.

We're getting married at the Fern Grotto, part of Smith's tropical Paradise. Apparently where Elvis got married in Blue Hawaii. lol

    ...help!...

And that being said, I have Mt. Laundry to tackle. Ugh...

    Have a good night!

  • Wedding Info Packets

I'm gathering info on Hawaii, the wedding ceremony and reception, hotel and airfare info, etc and sending it out. thought it'd keep things as easy as possible for my guests.

I had bought these pocket folders, portfolios, and they ended up being coated so nothing was sticking very well. So I scrapped that idea. I went to Staples to see if I could find any uncoated ones and instead I found these neat big envelopes.

They're the perfect neutral color, they're paper-ish material so regular gluesticks work great, and they felt like an original idea (I'd never seen them before). The clincher...they were in the clearance bin for next to nothing! I ended up getting them for about $2.25 per package of 6 instead of their original price of 11.49!  So happy! lol

Then I came home and 'scrapbooked' them up to make them look less like plain ol envelopes.

Here's some pics of the first dozen (fronts above, backs below):

They came out pretty cute, hey?

  • Once bitten...

    ...twice shy?

Oh but my xanga friend has put a dangerous idea in my head. lol

Well, not dangerous exactly.... But I am a wee but frightened for what may be to come. It could be scary. lol

I have a sudden and fierce hankering (hankering?! omg...apparently my brain has gone fully into 'schools out' mode) to make my own wedding invitations. Something Starfishy!

Way to go Sly...way to go...  ...what have you started?

Seriously though...anybody have any fantastic DIY ideas for wedding invitations involving Starfish?? A starfish drawing/stencil would be a good place to start, because I can't draw to save my life!

About Me

  • After knowing each other since forever...and being engaged about as long...Dan and I are finally tying the knot! We've postponed our original date to October 6th, 2008....in Kauai, HI! I'm thrilled and terrified of all the details and planning of a destination wedding.
